Figure-eight knot aka figure-eight loop aka figure-eight follow-through aka trace eight

Often used to connect a rope to an anchor, or to a harness. This is arguably the only knot you need in order to start climbing.

Double figure-eight loop aka figure-eight double loop aka bunny ears

Used to connect a rope to two anchors and equalized to split the load between both anchors.

Inline figure-right aka directional figure-eight aka figure-eight directional loop aka figure-eight on a bight

Can be used to make hand-holds on a rope, or connect a load to the middle of the rope. Has to be loaded in the correct direction, or it may fail.
